Jesus... Liar? Lunatic? Legend? Lord?

Just who is Jesus Christ?

C.S. Lewis, in his book Mere Christianity, said "either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse."

John Duncan (a Scottish preacher) stated that "Christ either deceived mankind by conscious fraud, or he was himself deluded and self-deceived, or he was divine. There is no getting out of this trilemma. It is inexorable."

Their views were formed by some outrageous claims Jesus made about himself. He said that:

• he was God
• he made the world
• he died on the cross for the sins of the world
• God brought him back to life as ruler and Lord of all, and
• that he will return to judge the world

What are we to make of these claims? Is he lying? Is he loony? Is he just a legend? Or is he in fact Lord? Come along and find out.
